Monaco Pavilion Draws 1.5 Million Visitors at Expo 2025 Osaka Kansai

After six months on display at the World Expo 2025 Osaka Kansai, the Monaco Pavilion has officially closed its doors on the artificial island of Yumeshima — marking the end of an exceptional journey that captivated nearly 1.5 million visitors.

Representing more than 5% of the Expo’s total attendance of nearly 28 million people, the Pavilion firmly established its place among the event’s standout attractions. This remarkable achievement underscores the enduring global fascination with the Principality of Monaco and the Pavilion’s success in creating a space of wonder, reflection, and shared knowledge.

Inaugurated on 13 April 2025, the Monaco Pavilion was led by H.E. Mireille Martini, Commissioner General, with support from Corinne Corradi, Pavilion Director, and Kristina Djordjevic, Deputy Commissioner General. A dedicated team of around fifty professionals from Monaco and Japan worked tirelessly to ensure its smooth operation and memorable visitor experience.

Beyond its impressive attendance figures, the Pavilion embodied the deep friendship between Monaco and Japan — a relationship founded on mutual respect and a shared commitment to sustainability. In a gesture symbolizing peace and resilience, the Pavilion’s emblematic olive tree was presented to the City of Osaka during a ceremony attended by H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco and Osaka Mayor Hideyuki Yokoyama.
