A Sovereign Legacy: Monaco Honors 20 Years of Prince Albert II

On April 6, 2005, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II succeeded his father, Prince Rainier III, as Sovereign of Monaco. As the 14th ruler of a dynasty that has governed the Rock for more than seven centuries, he began a new chapter in the Principality’s enduring legacy.

This Saturday, Monaco will celebrate a defining moment in its contemporary history: the 20th anniversary of Prince Albert II’s reign. A truly exceptional evening awaits on the Place du Palais, uniting the Princely Family and the Monegasque people in a celebration of continuity, commitment, and shared pride.

Overlooking the Mediterranean from the heights of the Rocher, the Prince’s Palace will serve as the majestic backdrop for an event that promises elegance, warmth, and simplicity.

Guest arrivals are scheduled between 5:30 PM and 6:30 PM, via access points at the Rampe Major, Rue Basse, Rue Comte Félix Gastaldi, and Rue Emile de Loth. Invitations are required, along with either a Monegasque identity card or a residency card for spouses of Monégasque nationals.

Their Serene Highnesses Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene will make their appearance, accompanied by their children, Hereditary Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella, along with other members of the Princely Family. A speech by the Sovereign, followed by an address from Monaco’s Mayor, Mr. Georges Marsan, will mark the ceremonial heart of the evening.

Throughout the night, a sophisticated musical ambiance will be provided by La Palladienne and the Prince’s Carabinieri Orchestra.

The celebration is expected to conclude at 10:30 PM.
