European Heritage Days: Monaco Marks 30th Edition with Spotlight on Architecture — Sunday, 5 October 2025
Monaco is preparing to welcome visitors for the 30th edition of the European Heritage Days, a cultural celebration that invites the public to explore the Principality’s rich and diverse heritage. This year’s theme, “Architectural Heritage”, will highlight Monaco’s unique urban landscape and the evolution of its architecture through the centuries.
Launched by the Council of Europe and the European Union, the European Heritage Days are now celebrated in over 50 countries, bringing together nearly 30 million visitors each year through 70,000 cultural events. Since 1996, Monaco has played an active role in this pan-European initiative, opening the doors of its landmarks and cultural sites to the public.
The program begins on Saturday, 4 October, with a guided excursion beyond Monaco’s borders to Villa Eilenroc, a neoclassical jewel on the Cap d’Antibes peninsula.
On Sunday, 5 October, more than 30 sites and institutions across the Principality will exceptionally welcome visitors, offering a rare opportunity to discover both well-known monuments and hidden gems. Highlights include guided tours of architectural projects, workshops for children at Les Studios de la Costa, and thematic walking tours tracing Monaco’s urban story from past to present.
This year also marks the first appearance of Jean-Philippe Hugron—architectural historian, journalist, and author of Guide d’architecture Monaco: Beausoleil – Roquebrune-Cap Martin (2021). He will lead two exclusive walks: “Art Nouveau, Art Deco, New Modernities” and “Monaco and the Tradition of Originality”.
The European Heritage Days offer an unmissable occasion to experience Monaco from a fresh perspective, through the lens of its architecture.
