Monaco’s Tourism Success and Future Strategy Unveiled at Annual Meeting

On March 18, 2025, the Monaco Tourist and Convention Authority (MTCA) presented its 2024 activity report and outlined its strategic vision for 2025. The event, held at the Meridien Beach Plaza Hotel, brought together key stakeholders from the region’s tourism industry. Minister of Finance and Economy, Mr. Pierre-André Chiappori, along with representatives from Monegasque institutions, attended the gathering to discuss Monaco’s tourism performance and future outlook.

A Positive Year for Tourism in 2024

Monaco’s appeal as a luxury destination was reaffirmed in 2024, with significant growth in the hospitality sector. Hotel occupancy rates improved by three percentage points compared to the previous year, while average prices increased by 5%. These figures highlight the resilience and recovery of the tourism industry, particularly in the business tourism sector, which has rebounded strongly following the challenges posed by the pandemic.

During the event, Mr. Guy Antognelli, Director of the MTCA, detailed the organization’s strategic focus for the coming year. He emphasized the importance of targeted marketing initiatives aimed at stimulating demand in key markets. “The Monaco Tourist and Convention Authority is working to sustain dynamic business on long-haul growth markets like the United States and the Middle East, which are the most profitable segments for Monaco. We are also working to develop business from European visitors during less busy periods,” he stated.

A key component of the 2025 strategy is to enhance engagement with nearby markets, particularly in the latter half of the year, to balance seasonal demand. This approach aims to maximize visitor numbers while ensuring sustainable tourism growth.

The award serves as a testament to Monaco’s commitment to excellence in hospitality and its continuous efforts to elevate the visitor experience.

The annual meeting concluded with a message of gratitude to all tourism professionals who contribute to Monaco’s success. With strong results in 2024 and a well-defined strategy for 2025, the Principality is poised to reinforce its status as a premier global destination in the years ahead.
