The MONACO–MORAVIA Hot Air Balloon Takes Flight at the Monaco Yacht Show

The Club des Aéronautes de Monaco marked a historic milestone during the Monaco Yacht Show with the official unveiling of the new Monaco–Moravia hot air balloon. The occasion was doubly symbolic: H.S.H. Prince Albert II accepted the title of Honorary President of the Club, while Moravia Yachting was announced as the organization’s main partner for the next two years.

A Commitment to Aeronautics and Sustainability

Since its founding in 2000, the Club des Aéronautes de Monaco has built a reputation for excellence in aeronautics, coupled with a deep commitment to environmental responsibility. The national hot air balloon, often described as the “largest flag of Monaco in the world,” has become a powerful emblem of both heritage and sustainability — values that resonate strongly with the Principality and its Sovereign.

“The Sovereign’s decision to support us by accepting the Honorary Presidency filled me with joy and pride,” said Alain Cruteanschii, President and Founder of the club. “Since our creation, we have strived to ensure that our sporting activity respects nature. With this exceptional commitment, we will continue working along this path.”

H.S.H. Prince Albert II’s involvement gives the Club’s mission both official and symbolic weight, strengthening its projects, energizing its ambitions, and reinforcing Monaco’s influence internationally.

At the same ceremony, the Club des Aéronautes announced a landmark partnership with Moravia Yachting, a brand that shares its passion for elegance, sustainability, and excellence. The redesigned Monaco–Moravia balloon proudly retains the Principality’s signature red-and-white colors and bold “MONACO” lettering, while incorporating the Moravia Yachting logo — a visual statement of this new alliance.

“I have always wanted to experience hot air ballooning,” shared Niall Robinson, Founding Partner and CEO of Hill Robinson Group and Moravia Yachting. “Its silence, grace, and dependence on the wind echo my passion for classic yachts. I believe this project will strengthen both Alain’s ballooning endeavors and Moravia’s global presence, resonating with clients who value this ‘minimum waste, maximum joy’ approach to life.”

A First for the Monaco Yacht Show

The Monaco–Moravia balloon made its first official appearance at the Monaco Yacht Show 2025, taking flight from the Terrasses du Soleil on Wednesday morning before being showcased once again during a unique evening event at the Place du Palais Princier. Both moments offered a breathtaking spectacle — one that tied together Monaco’s iconic symbols with a spirit of innovation and sustainability.

“Having the national hot air balloon supported by Moravia Yachting and showcased during the Monaco Yacht Show is truly spectacular,” said Niall Robinson. “It is something entirely unique that reflects our values of enjoyment and innovation. I am convinced it will spark conversations, generate excitement, and bring a whole new dimension to our initiatives.”

Looking ahead, the partnership promises to give the Club des Aéronautes de Monaco new visibility and international reach. The Monaco–Moravia balloon will represent the Principality at major aeronautical and cultural events around the world, further solidifying its role as an ambassador of Monaco’s values.

“Thanks to this new partnership, we will have the means to proudly fly the colors of the Principality around the world,” added Alain Cruteanschii. “With the Moravia Yachting team, we are united by kindness, efficiency, respect, and a love of work well done.”

Niall Robinson echoed this sentiment: “We are very proud to see Moravia’s image associated with Monaco’s hot air balloon. Our ambition is to leverage our network to allow Alain to fly to new destinations — Saudi Arabia, I hope. Wherever it goes, this balloon will carry a positive impact for both Monaco and Moravia Yachting.”

The unveiling of the Monaco–Moravia balloon at the Monaco Yacht Show is more than a partnership announcement; it represents a shared vision between the Club des Aéronautes de Monaco, Moravia Yachting, and the Principality itself. Combining elegance, sustainability, and innovation, the balloon will continue to carry Monaco’s colors with pride — a soaring ambassador of the values it represents.
