Le Bal de la Rose 2025: A Sunset Ball of Elegance, Royalty, and Philanthropy
Monaco’s most anticipated and glamorous charity event of the season, Le Bal de la Rose, dazzled guests once again on March 29, 2025. The Salle des Étoiles at the Sporting Monte-Carlo was transformed into a breathtaking Caribbean paradise, bringing together royalty, celebrities, and philanthropists for an unforgettable evening. This year’s edition, themed the Sunset Ball, was a celebration of exotic beauty, vibrant rhythms, and eco-conscious elegance.
Presiding over the evening was Princess Caroline of Monaco, who continued the legacy of her mother, Grace Kelly, as the event’s patron. Dressed in a stunning white Chanel creation, the Princess made a grand entrance alongside renowned artistic director Christian Louboutin. With his creative vision given free rein once again, Louboutin masterfully designed an enchanting Caribbean-inspired atmosphere.

Joining them in the spotlight were Prince Albert II of Monaco and Princess Charlène, exuding elegance as they arrived hand in hand. Princess Charlène turned heads in a green lace Dolce & Gabbana gown, perfectly aligned with the evening’s tropical theme.

The younger members of Monaco’s royal family also graced the event with their presence. Charlotte Casiraghi (in Chanel) and her sister-in-law Beatrice Borromeo (in Dior with Tiffany & Co. jewelry) arrived arm in arm, embodying effortless sophistication.

Andrea Casiraghi and his wife, Tatiana Santo Domingo (in Erdem), were seen enjoying the festivities, while Alexandra of Hanover attended with her boyfriend, Ben Sylvester Strautmann. The young princess dazzled in a voluminous pink Giambattista Valli gown, complemented by exquisite Cartier jewelry, including a breathtaking necklace from the Perle de Cartier collection adorned with 474 diamonds.

An Enchanting Theme: The Sunset Ball
Under the artistic direction of Christian Louboutin, the Salle des Étoiles was transformed into a lush Caribbean forest, complete with vibrant floral arrangements and a charming beach café known as the Monaco Sunset Bar. The decor paid homage to Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer’s eco-responsible policy, ensuring that most materials used—such as tablecloths, vases, and candles—would be repurposed by the Princess Grace Foundation for future charitable endeavors.
The Bal de la Rose has been a staple of Monaco’s social calendar since its inception in 1954 by the Société des Bains de Mer. Initially launched to mark the start of the Principality’s party season, the event took on an international flair in 1957 under Princess Grace, who introduced the concept of an annual theme inspired by a country, a flower, and a show.
Since 1964, the event has also served a philanthropic purpose, raising funds for the Princess Grace Foundation. Under the leadership of Princess Caroline, who was appointed president of the foundation in 1983, the Bal de la Rose has continued to evolve, embracing modern artistic influences while remaining deeply rooted in Monaco’s traditions.
For the past three decades, a dynamic collaboration between the Princess of Hanover, Françoise Dumas, and Anne Roustang has ensured that each edition of the Bal de la Rose remains a unique and unforgettable experience. Together, they carefully curate themes, select artists, and innovate the event’s presentation to maintain its reputation as one of the world’s most prestigious charity galas.
