Monaco Yacht Show Unveils 2025 Blue Wake™ Award Winners

The Monaco Yacht Show has announced the five winners of the prestigious Blue Wake™ Awards 2025, revealed during the Grand Opening Night held on Tuesday at Le Méridien Beach Plaza, Monaco.

The ceremony brought together 400 distinguished guests, including Monaco officials, Blue Wake exhibitors, leading sponsors, private clients, and influential figures from the global superyacht community.

Celebrating Innovation in Sustainable Yachting

This year, four pioneering companies and one standout yacht were recognised for their commitment to driving forward sustainable innovation in the superyacht sector. The awards celebrate credible, high-impact solutions that advance environmental responsibility across yacht design, engineering, and the onboard experience.

Developed in collaboration with the Water Revolution Foundation, the Blue Wake™ Awards are a cornerstone of the MYS sustainability programme. Each submission was assessed against four key environmental focus areas, with rigorous evaluation, data-backed claims, and third-party verification where possible. Only the most impactful solutions were shortlisted and voted on by an expert jury.

The 2025 Blue Wake™ Award Winners

  • TYKUN – H1 Hydrogen Propulsion System (Tenders & Water Toys)
Recognised for its Italian-designed H1 hydrogen propulsion system, now ready for production. Combining high performance with reduced environmental impact, it represents a major step toward cleaner maritime technology.

  • Tai Ping – Biophilic Programme
Honoured for its innovative collection of rugs made from undyed, biodegradable fibres such as wool, silk, flax, and jute. By eliminating dyeing, the programme reduces water use by 60%, energy by 85%, and significantly lowers carbon emissions.

  • Deasyl – Sustainable Yachting Fuel
Awarded for its next-generation marine fuel, created through low-energy, green chemistry processes. The fuel achieves up to 93% CO₂ reduction, advancing decarbonisation in yachting.

  • Sanlorenzo – Superyacht with Reformer Fuel Cell Systems
Celebrated for introducing the world’s first superyacht to feature Reformer Fuel Cell systems in partnership with Siemens Energy. Powered by hydrogen from green methanol, the system supplies up to 100 kW of emission-free electricity at anchor, cutting annual emissions by 20–30%.

  • Special Jury Award: Silver Yachts – Catamaran Reduce
Distinguished for its bold, eco-conscious design. Built entirely in recyclable aluminium with a low-resistance multi-hull, Reduce delivers exceptional fuel efficiency and extended range. The award highlights the importance of out-of-the-box design thinking in minimising environmental impact.
