H.S.H Prince Albert II Receives Annual Monaco Yacht Show Donation
During his official visit to the 34th Monaco Yacht Show, H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco was presented with a €54,000 donation in support of the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation. The contribution was made by Gaëlle Tallarida, Managing Director of the Monaco Yacht Show, and Lord Stephen Carter, CEO of Informa Group, and welcomed by Olivier Wenden, Vice-President and CEO of the Foundation. This gesture, now a yearly tradition, underscores the show’s commitment to environmental responsibility.
Since 2010, the Monaco Yacht Show has stood alongside the Foundation in its mission to safeguard the planet, notably backing the “Ice Memory” project. This pioneering scientific initiative seeks to preserve ice cores from endangered glaciers, providing invaluable data for future generations on the impacts of climate change.
The donation ceremony took place aboard Reduce, a 35.9-meter catamaran built by Silver Yachts and honored with the Special Jury Award at the inaugural Monaco Yacht Show Blue Wake Awards, which celebrate eco-innovation in yachting. Prior to the presentation, Prince Albert II toured Maximus, a 59.29-meter sailing yacht by Vitters Shipyard, also shortlisted in the awards.
The Sovereign’s visit concluded with a tour of the Upper Deck Lounge, where he met with industry leaders and exhibitors. He also paused to explore Tribute to Yachting, a photographic exhibition curated in collaboration with renowned photographer Guillaume Plisson. The collection offers a poetic perspective on the artistry and spirit of yachting, further enriching the cultural dimension of the show.
Now in its 34th year, the Monaco Yacht Show continues to assert its role as a global showcase for the future of yachting—where innovation, luxury, and sustainability meet.
