Find Your Zen at Gdas Bali Health and Wellness Resort – A Tranquil Escape Rooted in Balinese Tradition

Set among beautiful rice fields and tropical jungle just south of Ubud, Gdas Bali Health and Wellness Resort offers a transformative escape where modern wellness meets ancient Balinese wisdom.

Designed for those seeking a deeper connection with themselves and the world around them, Gdas Bali is more than just a luxury resort—it’s a sanctuary for the soul. From yoga at sunrise to plant-based cuisine and spiritually inspired spa treatments, every element of the resort invites guests to slow down, reconnect, and find balance.

The resort is the vision of Russell Simmons, the globally renowned entrepreneur and advocate of a holistic, plant-based lifestyle. Inspired by his personal journey and in collaboration with Balinese partner Ida Bagus Oka Genijaya, Gdas Bali was born out of a shared mission: to create a space that blends global wellness philosophies with the ancient Balinese healing traditions found in Usadha Bali—a sacred medical manuscript rooted in nature and spirituality.

Set in the heart of Kumbuh village, Mas, Gdas Bali embodies the rich cultural and spiritual heritage of the island. Its name—short for Govinda Das, meaning “servant of God”—reflects the resort’s deep respect for nature, culture, and the pursuit of inner peace.

Currently home to 27 thoughtfully designed rooms and suites, including luxurious two-storey Prestige Pool Villas, the resort offers sweeping views of the surrounding paddy fields and tropical jungle. With a soft launch in 2022, Gdas Bali is poised for its full grand opening in summer 2024, with the unveiling of the Bali Eden Wellness Center.

Guests can nourish their bodies and minds with invigorating yoga sessions at the open-air shala, unwind with wellness rituals at the spa, or take part in guided village strolls to connect with local customs. The resort also features a hot yoga studio, a meditation terrace, and an outdoor pool ideal for reflection and relaxation.

A standout highlight is Tangi, the resort’s entirely plant-based restaurant. Helmed by expert chefs and sourcing produce from its own organic gardens, Tangi offers a vibrant culinary journey through global vegan cuisine. Whether it’s homemade guacamole and black bean burgers or syrup-kissed pancakes and Thai-inspired soups, each dish is as nourishing as it is artful.
