Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters 2026: A 119th Edition Set to Shine
The countdown has begun for the 119th edition of the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters, which will take place from 4 to 12 April 2026 on the legendary clay courts of the Monte-Carlo Country Club.
Presented on February 19 at the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort, the tournament’s official hotel, the upcoming edition promises world-class tennis, enhanced spectator experiences and continued innovation both on and off the court.
Organised by the Société Monégasque pour l’Exploitation du Tournoi de Tennis and presided over by Melanie-Antoinette de Massy, the event traditionally marks the opening of the European clay-court season in the ATP Masters 1000 category — a key milestone on the international tennis calendar. Like the Monaco Grand Prix or the Monaco Yacht Show, the tournament transforms the Principality into the epicentre of global sport for over a week.
Building on a Record-Breaking 2025 Edition
The 2025 tournament left a lasting impression, highlighted by the first Monte-Carlo triumph of Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz and a record attendance exceeding 150,000 spectators.
Tournament Director David Massey confirmed that the official draw ceremony will take place on Friday 3 April 2026 at 5 p.m. in Monaco, launched by the defending champion and broadcast live on Monaco Info.
While the final list of 45 directly accepted players will only be confirmed after the ATP entry deadline on 10 March 2026, Massey expressed confidence that the 2026 field will be “of exceptional quality.”
Strong Expectations for Local Talent
Monaco’s tennis hopes will once again be high. In 2025, the Franco-Monegasque duo of Manuel Guinard and Romain Arneodo captured a historic doubles title after receiving a wild card. Meanwhile, doubles specialist Hugo Nys continues to shine on the international stage, notably winning the 2023 Rome Masters 1000 alongside Poland’s Jan Zielinski.
In singles, the spotlight will fall on Valentin Vacherot. The Monegasque player made headlines with his first Masters 1000 main-draw victory against Jan-Lennard Struff in Monte-Carlo before confirming his progress later in the season at the Rolex Shanghai Masters. Now ranked world No. 25, Vacherot will enter directly into the main draw in 2026, buoyed by strong home support.
The tournament is also expected to welcome back many of the ATP Tour’s leading names. Fans are already anticipating potential appearances from Stefanos Tsitsipas, Novak Djokovic and Italy’s top-ranked star Jannik Sinner, whose presence would undoubtedly energise the large Italian fan base.
A Players’ Village Like No Other
In its ongoing commitment to player welfare, tournament organisers have once again privatised the prestigious Monte-Carlo Beach Club as the exclusive Players’ Village. For the second consecutive year, the venue will be entirely dedicated to competitors, their teams and families — a unique feature on the ATP circuit.
Further upgrades include a newly expanded 320 m² gym directly connected to the Players’ Village, as well as a new quiet zone designed for rest and recovery. The Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort will continue to serve as the tournament’s official hotel.
“We look forward to welcoming the best players on the ATP Tour for nine days of fierce competition,” said David Massey. “We have all the ingredients to deliver another sensational edition.”
Enhanced Fan Experience and Modernised Infrastructure
Responding to growing attendance figures, organisers have introduced several innovations aimed at improving the spectator experience. Four large screens will be installed in the commercial village to broadcast matches live. A redesigned entertainment zone will feature a giant screen, picnic areas, deckchairs, refreshment bars and interactive spaces — transforming the grounds into a vibrant social hub.
Infrastructure upgrades will also see the press centre relocated to the Pavillon de la Bergerie, while broadcasting operations will benefit from advanced technology. The Electronic Line Calling Live system — recognised for its exceptional precision — will return, alongside HawkVision, a 60-camera digital system offering immersive court-level perspectives.
Television coverage in France will be extensive, with full-week broadcasting on Eurosport, daily matches streamed on France.tv and the final aired on France 4.
Strong Partnerships and Renewed Charity Commitment
Alongside title partner Rolex, the tournament has renewed its partnerships with Emirates, Maserati, Generali, Adecco, Dunlop, Yokohama, Minuty and Tecnifibre. New partner Rummo joins the 2026 edition, while Champagne Lanson returns as an official partner.
The event also continues its charitable initiative “Points for Change” alongside BNP Paribas, supporting the Monaco-based association GEMLUC in its fight against cancer. Funds raised will help finance external breast prostheses for patients undergoing treatment at the Princess Grace Hospital.
As anticipation builds, the 119th Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters promises not only elite sporting drama but also innovation, prestige and a strong commitment to community values — reaffirming its place as one of the most distinguished events in world tennis.
