The Pink October Wellness & Cancer Prevention Conference by Giu Monte Carlo focused on wellness as a powerful shield against breast cancer, emphasizing that a healthy lifestyle can be the most effective prevention strategy.

Speakers
The event featured a remarkable lineup of speakers who not only shared their expertise but also ignited a spark of inspiration in the hearts and minds of all in attendance.
- Professor Franco Borruto, member of the “Ordre des Medecins” of Monaco who came to represent not only the department of social affairs but the Ministerial Advisor Dr Christophe Robino. In July 2015 Professor received the title of Knight of Academic Palms (conferred by the French Prime Minister Manuel Valls), then in November 2015 the Principality of Monaco – the title of Knight of the “Order of St. Charles”. Since October 2015 he is the “Consultant dans le domaine de la politique de santé pour le Gouvernement Princier” at the Department des affaires sociales et de la santé.
During the speech Professor Borruto explained that women have a more active immune system. The immune system is a complex network of cells and proteins that defends the body against infections and diseases.
There are some differences in the immune response between men and women. For example, women tend to produce more robust immune responses to infections and vaccinations, which may contribute to their generally lower susceptibility to some infectious diseases. This is thought to be influenced by hormonal differences, such as estrogen, which can affect the immune system.
Professor Borruto explained that each person has a unique microbiota, which refers to the diverse community of microorganisms, including bacteria, viruses, fungi, and other microorganisms, that live in and on their body. The composition of the microbiota can vary significantly from one individual to another and is influenced by various factors, including genetics, diet, environment, and lifestyle.
The human microbiota varies from one part of the body to another. Different areas of the body provide unique environments that support the growth and colonization of specific types of microorganisms.
Professor Borruto explained also about importance of vaccination against human papillomavirus (HPV) specially for boys. HPV is responsible for various cancers in both men and women, including oral, throat, anal, and genital cancers. To reduce the risk of developing these cancers later in life, it’s recommended to vaccinate boys against HPV.
