How To Deal With Harassment and Violence At Work? The Prince’s Government Provides A Guide On Preventing and Dealing With The Issue

The Prince of Monaco’s government has recently shown its commitment to dealing with workplace harassment and violence. It has published a legal and practical guide on how to address harassment and violence at work. This guide was put together by the Department of Employment and the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs. It contains information for employees across different roles in organisations so that they can find advice that is relevant to them.

The guide first sets out to present the main elements of Act No. 1.457 of 12 December 2017 about harassment and violence in the workplace. The act protects employees and trainees, as well as civil servants and public officials against psychological or sexual harassment, sexual blackmail and violence at work. The document is meant to help to prevent and end this kind of behaviour, as well as to show the legislative and legal aspects of it.

The guide is intended for employees and employers in the Principality of Monaco and has been given to social partners so that they can distribute it to their members. Employers and employees can then use it as a reference tool for dealing with this issue.

The Minister of Health and Social Affairs, Christophe Robino, has stated that fighting against harassment and violence of every type is a vital part of public policy for the Principality of Monaco. This guide will act as an additional instrument in helping to achieve this objective.
